What Led Us here

After 30+ years in the space, Frankie and I have seen social media from every angle. We’ve worked with some of the world’s top athletes and brands, and we’ve seen the upside: it can be a powerful platform to share your story, open doors, and create real opportunity.

But we’ve also seen the damage. The pressure to perform. The endless comparison. The mental health toll. Especially for teens.

Even U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy recently issued a public health advisory warning that social media can pose a profound risk to the mental health of adolescents. That warning hit home. We’re seeing the effects every day in our work, and we knew it was time to do something about it.

That’s why we started FORREALSOCIAL.

We believe young athletes and their parents deserve better than being thrown into the digital deep end with nothing but a hope and a highlight reel. Ownly gives families the tools they need to take control of social media so it doesn’t end up controlling them.

This isn’t just about getting noticed. It’s about staying grounded in who you are.

We help teens build a healthy relationship with social media from the start, one rooted in intention, mental well-being, and long-term growth. Through a mix of personal branding strategy and expert mental health support, we help athletes craft an authentic online presence that can lead to real opportunities like scholarships, NIL deals, and brand partnerships, without losing sight of their values or well-being.

We’re not here to add to the noise. We’re here to change the way social media is approached for the better, and that’s something that we are super passionate about. I personally feel like I’ve finally found my purpose.

We know what it takes to build a platform that lasts. And more importantly, we know how crucial it is to protect the person behind it.

We’re just getting started and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead.
